Joe Ford Library Grand Opening
|
The Joe Ford Library, now in its third year of existence, joined forces with the Chamber of Commerce that celebrated the Library with its Grand Opening for it on January 9, 2008.
The Library's purpose is to preserve the naturalist’s collection, primarily of natural history, to give others opportunity to develop or enhance their knowledge in this area of interest.
Activities include the use of the Library for individual or group research, the presentation of programs at the Library, or for groups in their own locations, the provision of hikes throughout the year, the development of programs for children in the Library, in the surrounding parks, or in their classrooms.

All activities are free. However, all donations received will benefit the JFL/Brescia University and support the furtherance of programs for the community. Drop-ins are welcome on Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. and we are open other times by appointment.
Nature Enthusiasts Brenda Bailey Little and George W. Many topics have been developed by Naturalist Joe Ford. Among them are: Indians of Our Area; Wildflowers in Our Area; Ghost Stories (October only), Reptiles in General; Birds in the Backyard; Insects; Plant & Animal Invaders; Owensboro Red Light District, Outdoor Dangers; Rocks & Minerals; The World of Plants; The Good Ol’ Days; The Tobacco Farm As It Was; Spiders, Ticks, & Chiggers; It’s Time to Retire.
