What is the Brescia Annual Fund?

Brescia University seeks students who seek success. We want students to choose us because of the difference we can make in their education, their life, and their future. Competition for bright, success-oriented students is fierce. Brescia University must remain competitive, retain a strong standard of academic excellence, and enrich student life opportunities.

The Brescia Annual Fund supports teaching, learning, and discovery at Brescia University and plays a vital part in the thriving day-to-day operation of the university. Though tuition, state, and federal dollars provide part of Brescia’s operating budget, there are always more needs than these sources can supply. Unrestricted gifts to the Brescia Annual Fund help meet these needs. Gifts to the Brescia Annual Fund go where the need is greatest. Unrestricted support of the Brescia Annual Fund plays a key role in helping Brescia University attract and retain those students seeking to experience the Brescia Difference.

Why should I give to the Annual Fund?

It’s about teamwork, family, and community. Being part of a team – whether it’s the newly formed pep band, student government, The Broadcast, classroom activities, or athletics – Brescia students learn to give their very best, they learn to appreciate the needs of others, and they develop a willingness to give of themselves if needed. Brescia’s students learn that they are part of a bigger picture, making a difference.

Alumni, parents, faculty, staff, trustees, friends, and community partners are all part of a bigger picture too. Together, collective unrestricted gifts provide the extra resources needed to make the Brescia Difference…the vital difference between a good educational experience and a life transforming experience.

How is the Annual Fund Collected?

There are many ways to support the Brescia Annual Fund. No matter what venue you choose, the impact is the same. Supporting the Annual Fund does ensure the Brescia Difference.

• Direct Mail Appeals - the Department of Annual Giving sends about 4 appeals a year
• Parent Giving - Parent donations to the Brescia Annual Fund are a unique statement of trust and support. Tuition alone does not fully fund our faculty salaries, campus facilities, extra-curricular activities, and all the other things that make the Brescia experience so unique for our students. The Brescia Annual Fund closes that gap each year. Gifts of every size demonstrate parent support for the mission and direction of the university and a willingness to go above and beyond for our students. Every gift from a Brescia parent is as important and appreciated as the student it supports.
• Faculty and Staff Giving - Giving is a personal decision. Given the nature of a faculty or staff role, everyone on campus has the privilege of working for or with students every day. By giving to the Brescia Annual Fund, all faculty and staff also have the opportunity to do something extra. Unfortunately, tuition and state funding do not cover the entire cost to provide the life transforming educational experience that students receive at Brescia University. In addition to the daily contributions of energy and effort, a financial contribution is a different and important way to demonstrate an investment in Brescia University and its students. There are an endless number of reasons to make a gift, but all reflect a sincere belief in the work being done at Brescia University and a belief in every student’s pursuit to fulfill their dreams. Ultimately, faculty and staff participation in the Brescia Annual Fund is a vote of confidence in our students, the University, and its future.
• Society of the Arch membership - The Society of the Arch serves as the foundation on which Brescia University supports its efforts to do more than provide an education. Because of the collective gifts of The Society of the Arch members, students at Brescia University experience a life transforming opportunity that is the Brescia Difference.
• Fall and Spring Alumni Phone Calling – Brescia University’s Alumni Phone Calling efforts are wonderful opportunities to connect with our graduates, providing the opportunity to share the many exciting things that are taking place at Brescia. It is also a chance for alums to share the happenings, announcements, and accomplishments of their lives, as well as to pledge financial support to the Brescia Annual Fund. Alumni Phone Calling takes place two times each year, once before the holidays at the end of the year and again in the spring.
