College Goal Sunday at Brescia
Brescia University hosts College Goal SundayTM, a statewide program that provides free information and assistance to Kentucky families applying for college financial aid. The event takes place Sunday, January 31, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the Science Building.
Each year, Brescia University, Owensboro Community and Technical College, and Kentucky Wesleyan College rotate hosting the annual event. This year, students and their parents will attend the Daviess County community-wide event in the Taylor Lecture Hall in Brescia’s Science Building. Administrators and staff from all three higher education facilities will help college-bound students fill out their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) forms online, using Brescia’s computers. This form is required for any student seeking federal financial aid, including grants and loans, for all colleges and universities in the nation.
College Goal Sunday targets all students who need financial aid to attend college and who need help applying for that aid. Students should attend with a parent or guardian and bring their parents' completed 2009 IRS 1040 tax return or other 2009 income and benefits information.
College Goal Sunday is sponsored by the Lumina Foundation for Education, the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA), The Student Loan People, PNC Bank and KnowHow2GoKY.
